Description
Provide 24 hour ambulance and raised roof ambulance services to beneficiaries of Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusts, Georgia. Ambulances will be licensed and meet the minimum vehicle requirements mandated by the State of Georgia, Department of Human Resources Public Health, and Chapter 290-5-30. The Contractor will have at least Five (5) ambulance and One (1) stretcher Ambulance with Wheel Chair Availability to respond to requests for service. When Wheelchair Ambulance is not being utilized by VA. We will require a standard unit, similar to original Five in lieu of this special unit. The raised roof ambulance will be capable of transporting the patient on a stretcher and electric wheelchair. Response time to requests for service will be 30 minutes. Services will include non-emergency medical technicians and/or drivers as appropriate and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Non-emergency medical technicians and drivers must be capable to administer oxygen and have successfully completed the Standard Advanced First Aid Course of the American Red Cross or US Bureau of Mines or equivalent. EMTs must have completed training in accordance with the standards published by the Department of Health and Human Services with a minimum curriculum of 81 hours or equivalent including in-hospital training period. EMTs must be certified, licensed or otherwise officially recognized by the local, state or regional government or public entity where the emergency ambulance service is operated or by which it is governed. Applicable Standard Industrial Code (NAICS) is 62191 with a size standard of $5.0 million. The successful contractor must be regularly established in the business, financially responsible and have the necessary equipment and personnel to furnish services in the volume required for all items under the contract. Solicitation will be issued for base year with Four (4) one-year option to extend. All responsible sources may submit a bid that will be considered.
