- Description
- This pre-solicitation notice is issued by DOT/NHTSA headquarters for and on behalf of our field office, hence all inquiries/correspondence should be addressed to Ms. Robin Esser at the phone number and address provided. -----------------------------------------------The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Vehicle Research and Test Center (VRTC) requires a quantity of four (4) three-axis inertial measurement units that have extremely accurate unfiltered rate output signals. The linear accelerometers and angular rates must have performance ranges of+/- 2 g and +/- 100 deg/sec respectively. The non-linearity of the rate channels cannot be more than +0.05 deg/sec (or 0.05% of full scale). The required roll rate channel resolution must be at least 0.005 degrees/sec. The rate channel minimum bandwidth is 50 Hz. The resolution of accelerometer channels must be at least 0.001g. The power requirement is + 10-20 V DC. The units will be utilized in the conduct of high speed maneuvers using an integrated steering control system. The units must be delivered by March 15, 2002. The Government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price contract with Systron Donner Inertial Division (SDID) for the purchase of these inertial measurement units. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor is a RFP available. Interested parties believing they are capable of providing this requirement must respond to this notice in writing within fifteen (15) days after its appearance in the CBD. Interested parties must demonstrate proven capability to provide inertial measurement units that fully comply with the performance ranges listed and deliver them within the timeframe required. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the government. In the absence of responses within the specified time herein, negotiations on a sole source basis will commence with Systron Donner Inertial Division. *****
