- Description
- The contractor shall furnish the necessary qualified personnel, facilities, materials, supplies, and equipment to perform the inspection and compliance testing services necessary to determine conformance of motor vehicles with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems." The Government will provide the Contractor with the motor vehicle test specimens as Government Furnished Test Items (GFTI). Reporting services will be required in conjunction with the inspection and compliance testing services. Bidders must have a fully operational test facility capable of meeting all testing requirements specified by the solicitation and the Laboratory Test Procedures. In addition, the government may require a demonstration test at the Bidder's expense prior to Contract Award using the same facilities, materials, personnel, and equipment that the Bidder proposes to use in the performance of the contract. Subcontracting of compliance testing or any portions of a compliance test will NOT be permitted. Manufacturers of vehicles and/or components to be tested are not eligible for award of this requirement. It is contemplated that a fixed-price type contract will be awarded for this effort. The anticipated period of performance is twelve (12) months with four (4) additional twelve (12) month option periods. The anticipated issuance date is January 25, 2002. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The internet site, or URL, for the FedBizOpps page is www.fedbizopps.gov or www.esp.gov. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
