Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis for information purposes only. The Air Force is considering the possibility of replacing the existing F-16 Enhanced Diagnostics Aid (EDNA), P/N 16U90A11-801 or -803, with a more reliable, longer life device that utilizes the latest Memory Loader Verifier (MLV) technology. This MLV device will be required to use the existing 16U90A12-807 cable set and will be required to operate within the Flight Line and Hangar environments. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting a market survey of industry to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required associated with this type of technology. This is not a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid and will be used for fact-finding information only. The Air Force is seeking contractors who have the required technology and have the ability to design and manufacture a MLV using modern technology rather than traditional build to print requirements. The existing EDNA can load Operational Flight Programs (OFPs) into several Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) using several LRU specific interface protocols (i.e. MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-488, RS-232, RS-422, and several peculiar discrete interfaces). Future interface protocols will include Ethernet. The government does not have an immediate requirement nor intends to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited. A top-level drawing of the existing EDNA is available, if you have any questions of a technical nature, or a request for data please contact (Tom Fronberg, e-mail tom.fronberg@hill.af.mil. If you have questions of a contractual nature, please contact Lorraine Vernon at (801) 777-0135 or e-mail lorraine.vernon@hil.af.mil. Written responses must be submitted by 31 Jan 02 to OO-ALC/LGKE, ATTN: Lorraine Vernon, 6072 Fir Ave, and Hill AFB, UT 84056-5820. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted.
