Description
The United States Marine Corps has a requirement for the procurement and delivery of up to five (5) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) Packages in the base year and up to fifty?four (54) IDIQ Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) Packages in the option year(s). This package will be part of the ABV program. The Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) is a single platform that will provide deliberate and in-stride breaching capability to the assault force of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The ABV operates as part of the combined arms task force and is assigned to and employed by Combat Engineers. The ABV is based upon the M1 Main Battle Tank chassis (with out turret) and incorporates a number of subsystems, including a full width mine plow, dual line charges, lane marking system, remote control system, and protective weapon system. The ABV Breaching Package to be procured and delivered consists of one Full Width Mine Plow (FWMP) and one Lane Marking System (LMS) with 200 LMS markers. The integration of the Breaching Package onto the ABV, which uses the M1 tank chassis, shall require minimal modification to the chassis. In addition, this requirement shall include contractor support for installation/integration and technical manuals. This effort will be pursued as an unrestricted, commercial item purchase, pursuant to guidance set forth at FAR 2.1, which provides the standard definition of a commercial item. Standard practices for ?Acquisition of Commercial Items?, as set forth at FAR 12.203, will be applied throughout the process. Additionally, the contractor shall provide the requisite program management and logistics support to ensure that delivery schedules, performance requirements and overall supportability of the ABV Breacher Package is accomplished as set forth in the contract. It is anticipated that a draft RFP for the ABV procurement will be issued in the 2nd Quarter of Fiscal Year 2002. Contract award is projected for 3rd Quarter of Fiscal Year 2002. All future information relative to this procurement, including draft documentation, and release of the Formal RFP document (file download MS Word), will be made available to industry through the MARCORSYSCOM website: WWW.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/MCSCCTQ/Oppor.htm. It is requested that vendors interested in this procurement submit the following information to Mr. Rob Celeste at celesterm@mscs.usmc.mil: Company name, address, size of business, POC, telephone/facsimile number and e-mail address. A list of those responding to this announcement will be posted on the ABV website.
