Description

Amendment #1 to this RFQ changes the thickness of the poly vinyl sheeting to 0.060" (1.52mm) as stated below. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) 10407-0015-2, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. This solicitation is issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is restricted to small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) Code is 421390, with a small business size standard of 100 employees. The Federal Correctional Institute (FCI), located in the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, NC, has a requirement for the following: 360 pieces of 3/8" solar cool gray laminated glass totaling approximately 8500 sq. ft. Glass #1 (outside) must be 1/4" solar cool gray, glass #2 (inside) must be 1/8" clear. Glass #1 and glass #2 will sandwich a 0.060" (1.52mm)piece of poly vinyl sheeting. Visible light transmittance must be approximately 17%. Each individual piece of glass must be cut and tagged as indicated on drawings which will be provided to potential offerors upon written request to the contracting officer at the above address. Cuts will be rectangles, triangles and trapezoids as depicted on the drawings. The glass must be delivered uncrated to the inside of the Federal Correctional Institution, Butner, NC, 27509. Inside delivery will require the delivery person(s) to be cleared by a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check prior to arrival at the delivery site. Delivery may be split but all glass must be delivered and accepted no later than 45 days after receipt of order. Inspection for acceptance will be conducted by FCI staff and will take place as the glass is being off loaded. This RFQ should be quoted as a job with clear indication as to the overall price per square foot as a side note. Quote this FOB destination. Payment will be made using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Each offeror must include a completed copy of the FAR Provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications (May 2001) with its offer. The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, technical, past performance and price considered.
