Description

FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE ACTION. The Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for Human Studies Research Support for Human Environmental Epidemiologic Studies. This is an ongoing program to provide professional and technical support for Environmental Protection Agency studies in the area of environmental epidemiology. The work shall include collecting, procuring, managing, and analyzing human and/or environmental data, and may include the collection, procurement, preparation, shipping, and analyzing of human biologic specimens and environmental samples. Other aspects of the contract will cover conducting professional workshops, convening institution review boards (IRBs) and convening expert panels to discuss pertinent environmental issues. EPA anticipates award of a cost-plus fixed-fee, level-of-effort term (work assignment)type contract with a period of performance of 60 months consisting of a base year and four 12 month options. The base period and each option period will consist of approximately 14,500 hours with an option for 4,000 additional hours. The solicitation will be issued on or around January 25, 2002 and proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the RFP issue date. This procurement is a follow-on contract to contract number 68D98115 with Westat, Inc. that expires June 21, 2002. It is anticipated that the follow-on contract will have an effective date of June 22, 2002. EPA has determined that this action will be processed as a full and open competitive action. Regarding this procurement, no further synopsis will be issued. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be available via the EPA Website at http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd only. Hard copies or diskettes will not be available. Telephone and fax request will not be honored. It will be your responsibility to frequently check the same site for any amendments.
