- Description
- REPAIR/OVERHAUL SERVICES FOR ELECTRON TUBES The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is announcing its plans for the acquisition of repair/overhaul services for three (3) electron tubes, Thomas Electronics P/N ?s 14M148, 17M236, and 19M123. These tubes are critical components used in monitors to support the Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE-3) Radar System. The ASDE-3 radar is crucial for the control of ground traffic around airports and is an integral part of Airport Movement and Safety System (AMASS). Thomas Electronics, who holds the rights to the proprietary technical data, is the only known source of repair. Accordingly, the FAA intends to negotiate with and award a contract to Thomas Electronics for these services. The resultant contract will be for a 1-year base period with four 1-year option periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of the Government. The agreement will be an indefinite delivery/requirements type of contract, with firm-fixed unit prices. The Government estimates the cost for the total 5-year period to be $431,161.
