- The Bureau of Reclamation's Snake River Area Office has a = requirement to rehabilitate three historic turbine generators at the = Boise Diversion Dam, located approximately 7 miles SE of Boise, Idaho, = on the Boise River in Ada County. The principal components of the work = to be performed under this requirement include the following: the = transportation of the historic components of the turbine generator units = to the Contractor's shop from Reclamation's warehouse in Boise, Idaho; = designing,performing fluid dynamic analysis, fabricating, and furnishing = three pairs of replacement turbine runners; designing, refurbishing, = replacing, and furnishing virtually all components of three hydraulic = turbine generator units, including wicket gates, regulating shaft and = linkages and shift rings, discharge rings, lower and upper cover plates, = transmission shaft, discharge case, and lignam vitae bearings; thrust = bearings, upper and lower generator bridges, rotor and thrust bearing = shafts, transporting the components of the turbine generator units to = Boise Diversion Dam Powerplant, restacking and re-insulating the stator, = replacing poles of the rotor, correcting substantial misalignment of the = units, involving concrete work, designing and installing a new governor, = designing and installing a new brake system, designing and installing = high pressure oil lift for thrust bearings and refurbishing radial and = thrust bearing, erecting and aligning the turbine generator units, and = starting up, adjusting and testing the hydro generator units. = Disassembly of the turbine generator units will be accomplished by the = Government. Alignment and reassembly of the turbine generator units = will be accomplished by the Contractor. We anticipate issuing a Request = for Proposals (RFP) in February 2002 and offers will be due 45 to 60 = days after the RFP is issued. The RFP will be issued in Adobe Acrobat = .pdf format on CD-ROM and will include digital photos of the existing = installations. Reclamation reserves the right to issue the RFP on paper = if it's determined to be in Reclamation's interest to do so. To receive = a CD-ROM for this solicitation offerors must mail a request to the = address above or fax a request to (208)378-5108. Include your firm's = name, address, phone, fax, email address, and whether you're interested = in being a prime contractor, a subcontractor, or a supplier. No phone = requests for the CD-ROM will be accepted. There's no charge for the = first copy of the CD-ROM. Additional copies available for a = nonrefundable fee of $15 per additional CD. A planholders list will be = available when the solicitation is issued and offerors may request it = via fax at (208)378-5108. Offerors will be evaluated on the suitability = of their proposed equipment, successful past performance of similar = requirements, the quality and capabilities of their proposed = manufacturing facilities, proposed installation schedule, and price, = among other factors. At this time, a site visit has not been scheduled = but the RFP will include the specific date, time and meeting location = for the site visit as well as providing a contact point for the site = visit. For this acquisition the small business size standard is 750 = employees and the NAICS code is 333611. See Numbered Notes 12 and 26.
