- The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about February 08, 2002 at http://www.eps.gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive an e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Please contact Mr. Kevin L. Brumfiel at (757) 628-4635 or kbrumfiel@mlca.uscg.mil for assistance using FEDBIZOPPS. Hard copies of the solicitation will be provided only upon request. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dry-dock repairs including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) welding repairs, (2) clean and inspect diesel fuel tanks, (3) clean, inspect, and disinfect potable water tank, (4) clean and inspect sewage holding tank, (5) remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shaft, (6) fabricate and install propeller seal retainer, (7) renew shaft covering, (8) straighten shaft, (9) renew water-lubricated shaft bearings, (10) renew shaft sleeves, (11) remove and reinstall propeller, (12) perform minor repairs and reconditioning of propeller, (13) clean and test grid coolers, (14) preserve transducer hull ring and renew the V850 depth indicating transducer, (15) overhaul and renew valves, (16) inspect and test air receivers and relief valves, (17) remove, inspect and reinstall rudder assembly, (18) prepare and prime weather decks, (19) preserve underwater body, (20) preserve freeboard, (21) provide temporary berthing, (22) provide temporary logistics, (23) routine dry-docking, (24) provide access to various compartments for ship?s structure and machinery evaluation board inspection, (25) renew t-bar stiffeners, (26) repair full round, (27) repair pilothouse deck light foundation, (28) renew air handlers, (29) renew ASW pump foundation, (30) preserve main hold, (31) renew sheathing and insulation, (32) renovate berthing spaces, and (33) GFP Report in Accordance With Solicitation Section H. The vessel is a 65 Foot D Class Harbor Tug which is 65 feet 5 and one half inches in length, and 19 feet 3/8 inches in width. Vessel's home pier is located at 120 Woodward Avenue in New Haven, CT 06512-3698. Vessel's minimum depth of water is 8 feet, and the minimum height clearance is 35 feet. The vessel is geographically restricted to the protected waters of the cutter?s assigned area of operations, no open water transits. The performance period is forty-two (42) calendar days beginning on or about May 06, 2002. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or about February 08, 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. "Attention: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
