- NA 1. Purpose: The United States Army, through the TOCs/AMDCCS Project Office, Huntsville, AL, has a requirement to determine the availability of a digital voice / data intercom system or family of systems. 2. Schedule: The systems must be production systems that will be available in early 2002, be able to be mounted in tactical wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, and aircraft, and meet the host system requirements for cross country and airborne operations. 3. Scope of Work: The intercom shall have (but not be limited to) the following capabilities: a. Point-to-point communications between any operators, operators and any radio or telephony interface with the intercom nodal network. b. Preplanned and progressive conference calling of up to seven conference calls with up to 20 conferees each. c. Provide telephony interfaces with tactical and commercial telephone systems. d. Provide interface to a wide variety of US military radios, i.e., SATCOM, SINCGARS, IHF, VHF, JTRS, et. al. e. The intercom must interface with legacy intercommunications system (VIC-3, etc.) and communications interfaces (UHF/VHF radios, PSTN, Mobil Subscriber Network switches, etc.) f. The system must be modular in design and be capable of being configured to meet various operational requirement ranging from single nodes with varying complements of communications interfaces up to the systems maximums. g. The system must be capable of future expansion, i.e., add nodes, radios, operator workstations, etc. h. For airborne operations the intercom must be able to conform to appropriate airworthiness and crashworthiness certification appropriate to the airborne platform in which installed, i.e., UH-60, et al. i. The equipment must meet environmental requirements for tactical operations. j. The intercom must be capable of interconnecting up to 64 nodes and provide automatic intercom network affiliation, intercom network must be self-healing. (requiring no operator intervention) 4. Capability Description: Industry is invited to provide any available product information depicting the technical capabilities and requirements of operation of available intercom systems/family of systems. Where the requirements can not be met by availab le products, or products planned for the time frame, the vendors are requested to provide detailed analysis of the operational impacts, and how their product could be modified to meet the intent of the requirements (include product availability impacts).
