- NA The US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Acquisition Center Washington and the Program Manager for Mines, Countermine and Demolitions (PM-MCD), are seeking information from industry on the capabilities of industry to design, development, test , and produce a system that meets the operational requirements of the Airborne Standoff Minefield Detection System (ASTAMIDS). CECOM and PM-MCD are also seeking information on the availability of commercial systems, non-developmental item (NDI) systems, a nd/or individual commercial/NDI components that can be used in or as a part of an ASTAMIDS system. The ASTAMIDS is required to detect, characterize, and locate mines, minefields and obstacles. The ASTAMIDS system will consist of: (a) payload package for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system. The payload package will consist of a mission-specific hardware, software, and firmware components that are present in the UAV Air Vehicle during the execution of an ASTAMIDS mission. (b) ground located processin g and analysis station. The processing and analysis station will consist of mission-specific hardware, software, and firmware components that are utilized during and after the execution of an ASTAMIDS mission. Firms possessing the capabilities to satisfy the ASTAMIDS requirements through design and development and/or possessing the commercial/NDI systems or commercial/NDI system components to satisfy the ASTAMIDS requirements are invited to submit documentation to the Point of Contact herein to include a ( 1) statement of qualification, (2) product literature, (3) past performance information, (4) current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable), and (5) price schedules/catalogues (if applicable). Respondents must also include information regarding (1) customary practices, including warranty, discounts, etc., under which commercial sales of the products are made and (2) requirements of any laws and regulations unique to the item being acquired. Proprietary information submitted in response to this Request for Information will be protected when clearly identified as proprietary. Response to this RFI should be received no later than 15 February 2002.
