Description
The FAA is seeking qualified contractors to construct a Remote Transmitter/Receiver (RTR) ?F? Facility at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Int?l Airport, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The work consists of but is not limited to the following: Installation of 4 ? 60? self-supporting galvanized steel Remote Transmitter/Receiver (RTR) Towers and concrete foundations; 2) Construction of a concrete masonry unit type RTR equipment building; 3) Construction of a stick-type RTR storage building to include lighting, HVAC, and embedments; 4) Construction of a crushed rock access road, parking turn-a-round area and all other necessary site preparation; 5) Installation of underground radio frequency (RF) and power cables; 6) Installation of underground PVC ducts for fiber optic cable; 7) Grounding & lightning protection work; and 8) Miscellaneous civil, mechanical and electrical work. Offer range is between $500,000 to $750,000 with a performance time of approximately 120 calendar days. S! mall economically disadvantaged and 8(a) firms are highly encouraged to respond. Interested firms will be required to complete a past performance questionnaire to determine eligibility to receive the Request for Offer. The Request for Offer is anticipated to be available March/April 2002. Interested firms should request pre-qualification Screening Information Request Application No. DTFA14-02-R-34226 via letter or fax at 847/294-7801. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS FEBRUARY 1, 2002. Firms who have not successfully completed a project of equivalent complexity and dollar value for the Great Lakes Region will be required to fill out a Screening Information Request application. Firms who have completed work for the Great Lakes Region shall provide the contract number and a brief description of the work in their letter of interest. This notice is for informational purposes for Minori! ty, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
