- Description
- This is a total Emerging Small Business Set-aside. An Emerging Business is defined as a small business concern who's size is no greater than 50% of the numerical size standard applicable to the NAICS code assigned to this announcement. NAICS code for this announcement is 541310. The small business size standard for this code is $4.0 million; therefore, the emerging small business size standard is $2.0 million. Provide A/E services to prepare working drawings and specifications, prepare construction cost estimates, provide construction period services and site visits and to provide all necessary materials, tools, equipment and labor needed for site investigations for NRM Project 619-02-104, Renovate Public Toilets, Phase 2, at East Campus (Tuskegee) and West Campus (Montgomery) Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System in accordance with Supplement "B". Estimated construction: $262,722.00. Work anticipated to be included in the design includes minor architectural changes, replacement of existing interior finishes, replacement of toilet fixtures, replacement of toilet cubicles, installation of new light fixtures and revision to the building exhaust system. All professional services shall be a part of the design team announced in the SF 254's and 255's. Specific evaluation factors, not in priority order shall be: 1) Professional team proposed for this project. 2) Specialized experience & technical competence, for design & construction, by all members of the team. 3) Proposed design approach for this project and management plan. 4) Location & facilities of working offices within a 200 mile geographical radius of Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL, including prime and consultants. 5) Other: Control of schedule/cost/estimating effectiveness of 10 most recent projects, Autocadd 14 capabilities, Internet acessibilities, past litigation involvement, etc. A/E firms are required to respond in writing if interested and shall submit a completed SF 254 & SF 255 to the Ralph H. Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC, 29401-5799, Attention: Elisa W. Terrell. Firms responding to this announcement by close of business (4:30pm, Charleston, SC time)February 22, 2002, will be considered. Firms selected for interview will be requested to present their approach for this project and demonstrate their experience. This is not a request for proposal.
