Description

The US Government is looking for sources to provide Cable TV services for 14 locations within the UK consisting of U.S. Air Force facilities at RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford, RAF Molesworth, RAF Alconbury and other facilities and US Forces housing areas. Currently, the Government is operating with a franchise agreement with contractor owned cable serving approximately 5700 subscribers. A new agreement must provide for distribution of US Armed Forces Radio and Television services consisting of 13 NTSC format TV channels and 8 FM radio channels plus all local broadcast television channels to all subscribers. The provider would be allowed to provide and charge subscribers for a premium incremental tier service offering elective viewing of movie, sports, etc. Provider would also be encouraged to offer commercial Internet service and telephone access. Request suggestions for alternatives to the current approach for providing Cable TV Services.
