Description
POC: Marilyn Hutchison, U.S. Geological Survey, PO Box 25046, MS204B, Denver, Colorado 80225, Telephone: 303-236-9321, Fax: 303-236-2710, email: mhutchi@usgs.gov. Concerns having the ability to furnish the supplies described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within 45 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The U.S. Geological Survey, in order to extend the U.S. National Seismograph Network (USNSN) and to provide enhanced seismic monitoring of the Nation, has a requirement for three (3) Guralp CMG-3ESP high-quality broadband sensors for deployment at remote field sites throughout the United States. Because the USNSN project has strict performance criteria to insure the collection of high-quality waveform data from seismic events, there are stringent operational/performance requirements. The sensors must meet the following specifications: 1)Useable pass band between 0.01 Hz and 50 Hz (<LNM+10db) 2)Below Low-Noise-Model (LNM) of the Earth between 0.033 and 10 Hz 3)Flat velocity to 0.01 to 50 Hz 4)Calibration enable (+5V) 5)Re-centering logic mass position adjustment (+5V enable) 6)+20V differential signal out 7)145 dB linear dynamic range in the pass band (10-0.03 Hz) 8)-105 dB IHD 9)-60 dB cross axis coupling 10)Cal resistor sufficient to prevent clipping from a 5V input sourcing 10mA 11)Below the Peterson low-noise model in the frequency band 0.033-10 Hz 11)No more than 10dB above the low noise model in the frequency band 0.01-50 Hz Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), implemented by FAR 5.302-I, the Government considers the item specified as a sole source from Digital Technology Associates, 1330A Galaxy Way, Concord, California, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required supplies are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government?s only official notice of this procurement. See Note 22.
