Description
Military Sealift Command proposes to acquire, by negotiation, services for the operation and maintenance of eight (8) Government-owned vessels. The Contractor will provide personnel, operational, and technical support (ashore and afloat), equipment, tools, and supplies to operate and maintain the vessels. The ships are public vessels under the command of the Commander, Military Sealift Command (COMSC), and supports the United States Department of the Army Prepositioning Afloat (APA) Program. The eight LMSR vessels are the USNS POMEROY, USNS WATKINS, USNS CHARLTON, USNS RED CLOUD, USNS DAHL, USNS SISLER, USNS WATSON, AND USNS BOB HOPE. Under the contract the USNS SODERMAN will be delivered to PM3 and the USNS BOB HOPE will be redelivered and placed under the PM5 operating contract for surge vessels. The period of performance for this contract is five years. This acquisition will utilize full and open competition. Contractor personnel must be U.S. citizens possessing or capable of obtaining required security clearances and licenses, depending upon job title and duty. When calling be prepared to state name, address, and solicitation number. The RFP will be posted and can be viewed under the Contracts section at www.msc.navy.mil. Anticipated response date is 15 March 2002, however, this date is subject to change. The RFP will be posted to the website no later than (NLT) 28 January 2002.
