Description
SCOPE OF REQUIREMENT: The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) requires guest rooms, meeting rooms, food and beverage service, and audio visual equipment and services of a qualified hotel in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for its Managing Global Financial Risk Conference. The conference will be for two business days during the following time period: August 2002, September 2002, October 2002, or November 2002. There will be approximately 500 attendees at the general session on both days. The estimated number of sleeping rooms per night is 225 each for the first two nights, and 30 for a third night. Office space is required for a half day prior to the first day of the conference. The meeting room requirements for the first and second day include, but are not limited to, one general session for 500 combination classroom/theater, one speaker ready room for 15 conference style, one press room for 15 conference style, and one office. There will also be continental breakfast for 400 on the first and second day, luncheon for 500 on the first and second day, one dinner and reception for 500 on the first night, and twice daily refreshment breaks for the full group. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: The hotel must 1) be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990, 15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq, (Public Law 101-391) and hold a FEMA certification number; 2) be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et seq. (ADA); and 3) have one of the following ratings: First class or higher per the Official Hotel Guide; three crowns or higher per the OAG Business Travel Planner; three diamonds or higher per AAA; two stars or higher per the Mobil Travel Guide. HOW TO ACQUIRE A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION: OCC anticipates issuing the solicitation on or about February 1, 2002, at www.fedbizopps.gov. If you wish to be notified when the solicitation is issued, please contact the point of contact below. The solicitation will contain the details of the rooms and services required, the instructions for submitting a quote, and how the quotes will be evaluated. This requirement will be procured using simplified acquisition procedures under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items in Subpart 13.5. All responsible hotels may submit a quote which shall be considered by the OCC. OCC anticipates awarding a contract about the end of March 2002, subject to the availability of FY2003 funds.
