- CALL FOR A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION PACKAGE (W/ATTACHMENTS) AND PLACEMENT ON THE SITE VISIT ATTENDANCE LIST SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 01, 2002. SCOPE OF WORK - BUILDING MANAGEMENT OFFICE (BMO) NAVY ANNEX, WASHINGTON, DC 20370 1. - GENERAL: - The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment and materials to install a kitchenette at the U S Courts of Appeals Building in Washington D.C. All work shall be performed in accordance with all local, state and federal codes and regulations. Location: U.S. COURTS of appeals 2. - REFERENCES: - Sketch of kitchenette SCOPE OF SERVICES: TASK A. - The contractor shall be responsible for all measurements. TASK B. - Demolition: Remove and dispose on existing cast iron sink and drain, waste and vent piping. Remove supply piping from isolation valves located in ceiling. Remove and dispose of all existing light fixtures, junction boxes, wire, receptacles, and light switches. Conduit not reused must be removed back to the source and plugged. TASK C. - Cut hole in expanded metal for installation of a 3?0 x 6? 6? steel door. TASK D. - Furnish and install new rough in plumbing to accommodate dishwasher, icemaker and new kitchen sink. Provide an install a ? H.P. garbage disposal with all necessary connections and fittings. TASK E. - Provide and install 3 GFI duplex receptacles. One shall supply the refrigerator and ice maker. Two shall supply the dishwasher and garbage disposal and the last shall be installed between the countertop and upper cabinet. These receptacles shall be rated at 20 AMP. Figure load calculation to determine number of circuits TASK F. - Frame using 20-24 gauge metal studs 16? on center. Door way to mechanical room shall be secured at the ceiling and floor; the studs shall be doubled for extra strength. Approx. 320 S.F. of drywall shall be installed and finished for painting. Install corner bead, tape, spackle, sand and prime. Brick will be laminated with drywall where framing is not necessary. Wall between mechanical room and kitchenette shall have a 2 hr fire rating and installed to ceiling. The responsibility lies on the contractor to ensure a straight even wall. TASK G. - Prime and paint to cover walls, ceiling, doors, trim and exposed duct work. The paint type shall be latex semi-gloss enamel. The color shall be appliance white, Duron or Equal. TASK H. - Furnish and install 40 S.F. white suspended ceiling. This includes grid, tees, wire, fasteners and tile. Position the grid in a way that the 2X4 light fixture will be centered above the kitchenette. TASK I. - Furnish and install standard 6? 150 CFM kitchen exhaust fan. Connect to existing exhaust system ductwork. Install switch rated for exhaust fan inside kitchenette on wall. TASK J. - Furnish and install one 2X4 recessed / lay in florescent light fixture with energy efficient ballast utilizing T-8 lamps. Install one new wall mounted light fixture on the left side of the kitchenette entrance 7 feet high. Provide and install double gang box and automatic sensor switch at regulation height to control the operation of the lighting. A switch for the exhaust fan shall be installed in this gang box. Install wire, single switch box and switch to control the lighting in the mechanical room. TASK. - Flash patch entire floor. The floor shall be smooth before installation of vinyl composition tile. Provide and install approx. 100 S.F. of 12? x 12? 1/8 vinyl composition floor tile in a checkerboard layout using black and white tile with the black tile as a boarder. The boarder must be at least 4?. Provide and install approx.100 L.F of 4? black vinyl cove base. TASK L. - Provide all materials, labor, equipment and tools to make all needed modifications to the existing hot and cold water pipes and drain lines to install the new kitchen counter mounted sink, garbage disposal, dish washer, refrigerator ice maker and icemaker to include all new shut off valves. TASK M. - Provide and install 3?0 right hand reverse pre-hung solid core steel door. Contractor to order or cut door to achieve the maximum allowable height for the existing conditions, the door is approx. 6?6?. TASK N. - Provide and install (2) 42? wall cabinets, (1) 36? sink base cabinet, (1) 39? regular base cabinet, (1) 18? base cabinet. Install approx. 9 F.T. of counter top. Furnish and install single stainless steel sink, faucet, strainer and air gap. TASK O. - Prepare all surfaces, apply all materials and install all equipment in accordance with manufacturer?s directions using good workmanship and trade practices. Restore all areas disturbed by performance of this work back to the original condition. TASK P. - Broom sweep the work area daily and maintain premises free of unnecessary accumulation of equipment, surplus material and debris. 4. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: All materials and equipment shall be new and meet the Federal Office Building No. 2 building standards. 5. MANUFACTURE: Various 6. WARRANTIES: All parts and equipment shall carry a 1-year manufacture?s warranty against defects. All labor shall be warranted for one year against workmanship and repairs. 7. DELIVERY PERIOD: The contract start date shall be five days after the contract award date with 30 days for completion 8. SCHEDULES: The contractor shall provide the Contracting Office or her Representative with a written work schedule for approval before any work is performed. 9. HOURS OF PERFORMANCE: Working Hours: Regular working hours shall consist of a period established by the Contracting Officer between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays. Work outside Regular Hours: Work outside regular working hours requires contracting officer approval. Provide written request 10 calendar days prior to such work to allow arrangement to be made by the Government for inspecting the work in progress. 10. INSPECTIONS: The Contracting Officer or her Representative shall perform a minimum of the following inspections for completion and acceptance. A. Start-up B. Preparation/repairs C. Final 11.
