Description

The Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) is conducting market research and hereby soliciting information from potential sources for preventive maintenance and on-call emergency service of two (2) Government-owned Hitachi electron microscopes, Model: H-7000, Transmission Electron Microscope, and Model: S-4000, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope. The microscopes are located in one lab at Beltsville, Maryland. The proposed NAICS code is 541990 with a size standard of $5.0M. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be accessible via the internet at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the fedbizopps for the release of any synopsis or solicitation. Requirements and capabilities are as follows: Proven record of efficient and effective service that has minimized downtime on Hitachi electron microscopes; factory-trained service engineers; ready access to spare parts for emergency service and maintenance; and previous experience on maintaining Hitachi electron microscopes. Interested sources who have the capabilities necessary to perform this service are invited to submit appropriate documentation and references. Responses shall include information corresponding to the required service which demonstrates the capabilities of the offeror's ability. References are required for previous contracts in maintaining Hitachi electron microscopes. Responses must include the following: name and address of company; size of business; whether business is large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone certified, women-owned, veteran-owned, and/or service-disabled veteran-owned; relevant past performance to include contract number, work accomplished, where performed, and name and telephone number of a point of contact. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue or award a contract, nor will the government pay for information provided. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The purpose of this notice is to identify potential sources that can perform the requirements stated.
