Description
The address for the Contracting Office responsible for this solicitation is: National Institutes of Health, Division of Research Acquisition, OLAO, 6100 Executive Blvd., Room 6E01, MSC 7540, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7540. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) has a requirement to provide services in the area of synthesis of a variety of medicinal compounds which have been identified in NIA laboratories for development, preclinical toxicology and Phase I, Phase II and Phase III clinical trials. The scale of the work to be performed under this project requires a functional large scale facility with at least one (20-100 gallons) glass lined reactor and several glass reaction vessels (50 and 100 L) with the necessary supporting equipment and laboratories. The duties of the Contractor include, but are not limited to: 1) provide and operate a materials? preparation laboratory for synthesis of varying amounts of materials; 2) development of existing or new processes, procedures and techniques for the preparation of compounds; 3) prepare and deliver materials, data sheets, preparative methods, and cost information for all materials; and 4) compliance with all Government health and safety regulations. The Contractor?s laboratory facility MUST be in compliance with the FDA Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP), as published in December 22, 1978 Federal Register Volume 43, No. 247, pp. 59986-60025. A two-year cost-plus-fixed-fee type contract, with three 1-year option periods is anticipated. The North American Industry Classification System code is 541710.
