- NASA/KSC plans to issue a sole source Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 5 ea Xli Assembly- includes TCXO and RS-232 I/O, P/N 1510-602; 5 ea Time code Generator Option, P/N 192-8016; 5 ea IRIG Outputs and 1pps Sync Option, P/N 86-8016; 8 ea N.1 Frequency synthesizer option, P/N 86-8015; and On-Site Training for six technicians from TrueTime, Inc. 3750 Westwind Blvd. Santa Rosa, CA 95403. The items required are available only from TrueTime. TrueTime systems are the only commercial off the shelf product that meet all engineering requirements for the new Master Timing Units being deployed in Cargo Integrated Test Equipment (Set). TrueTime system has successfully integrated the unique timing frequencies required for this product and balance outputs into one package for the best technology and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements in accordance to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This acquisition will provide hardware, software and support for the Checkout and Launch Control System (CLCS) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are requested to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, the appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the time stated below, with or without the required information, will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. All responses shall be submitted to Sean Howe no later than 2:00 pm EST, January 14th, 2002. All responsible sources may submit an offer for all or none, which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B".
