- The U. S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory, Pittsburgh PA issued this synopsis/solicitation for Caster Model MTA1011S3T5-HP275/HT Sealless Process Pump, Pump type: Magnetic drive single stage regenerative turbine, custom high pressure/high-temperature design, Materials: Machined 316SS pump casing, rear channel ring, and internal magnet casing, Hastelloy C-276 containment shell, silicon carbide shaft and sleeve bearings, nickel/chrome-impregnated carbon thrust bearings, AF600 high temperature o-rings, dual samarium cobalt high-temp. magnetic coupling, custom fabricated steel high-pressure/high-temperature external bracket (pedestal configuration). 1750rpm rated duty point: 14 GPM @ 70 ft TDH (30psi), requiring 1.6 bhp (2.0 bhp @ min. flow), Drive: cast iron oil lube ball bearing frame, Motor: 3 Hp 208-230/460/3/60/1750rpm 182T NEMA frame inverter-duty TEFC footed motor, Min. Flow: 3 GPM, Max head: 127 ft TDH (55psi), Max. Flow: 26 GPM, Ports: 1" suction x 1" discharge; configuration as required, Max. continuous temp: 410 degrees F, Max. S.G.: 1.4, Max. system pressure: 2650 psig (hydrotested to 275 bar = 4000 psig) or EQUAL. To be delivered to Department of Energy's Albany Research Center, Albany, Oregon. The solicitation number is DE-RQ26-02NT200163. This announcement constitutes both notification and solicitation. All in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12, Commercial Item Acquisition. Offers shall include descriptive literature containing sufficient technical literature to establish a bonafide capacity of meeting the RFQ requirements. Offers must be received by close of business February 15, 2002 SALIENT FEATURES: 1. Variable flow rate through use of variable speed motor. 2. Flow rate of 3 to 25 GPM. 3. Pump case to withstand process pressure of 2,300 psig and a temperature of 185 oC. 4. The Pump should be able to generate at least 30 psig across it. 5. A magnetic-type drive for coupling between motor and impellor. 6. Centrifugal-type pump body. 7. The pump must be able to withstand pumping a slurry of very fine rock (< 100 micron) in a NaCl/NaHCO3 solution (ph 6 to 8) and CO2 gas. Surry ratio will probably be 15% but we want to plan for as high as 40%.
