Description
The Office of Technical Assistance, U.S. Department of the Treasury, provides technical assistance and policy advice to senior government, government agency, and central bank officials worldwide. Treasury is recruiting a Senior Advisor (Enforcement) to structure technical assistance initiatives and oversee technical assistance teams assisting foreign governments with the development or enhancement of their capability to address financial crimes, which undermine economic reform or provide resources in support of terrorist activities. This is a position that requires extensive international travel and the ability to interact with senior officials of foreign governments. We seek an attorney or law enforcement professional with functional and policy level expertise in one or more of the following areas (1) capital markets fraud, (2) organized criminal enterprises/corruption, (3) money laundering, and/or (4) combating the financing of terrorist activities. The selected applicant must have the ability to work effectively at a senior policy level; to support and direct a geographically dispersed professional staff; and to develop and coordinate criminal investigative and regulatory enforcement policy assistance initiatives abroad in support of economic development or to stem the proliferation of terrorist financing. The successful applicant will have knowledge of professional investigative standards as applied to financial crimes, knowledge of the U.S. legal system and law enforcement organizations, knowledge of regulatory agencies and programs, and familiarity with U.S. foreign policy initiatives relating to terrorist financing. The Senior Advisor?s responsibilities extend into areas of program management such as budget development, interagency coordination, and recruitment. Qualifications, Salary and Benefits: A minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience is required. Salary will be negotiated in accordance with program regulations and demonstrated salary history, not to exceed $138,200 (includes D.C. locality pay). This is a personal services contract position. Fringe benefits will be provided in accordance with U.S. government regulations. U.S. citizenship is required. Successful applicants will be subject to a background investigation at the appropriate level and must meet eligibility requirements for a Top Secret clearance.
