- Solicitation N00421-02-T-0018 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This action is not set aside for small business. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Tricom Research, Inc. for the part numbers listed below, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Tricom Research, Inc. UHF DAMA SATCOM Amplifiers are the only ones that meet the following minimum Government requirements: 1) a 50 watt UHF DAMA SATCOM Amplifier designed to enhance the performance on critical satellite links; 2) amplify both transmit and receive signals, providing the extra margins needed to communicate in noisy RF environments or in fringe areas; 3) amplifier must employ a specialized preamplifier and bi-directional filtering for elimination of co-site interference; 4) must be waterproof; 5)amplifier may be remotely located up to several hundred feet from the operator with the DC operating voltage supplied over the readio frequency coaxial cable; 6) DAMA amplifier must be interoperability certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for UHF DAMA SATCOM; and 7) meet exact space and weight limitations of transit case systems. The contract line item number and description is *** CLIN 0001 quantity 9 each, P/N AM-SAT-50D RF 50 WATT Amplifier; and CLIN 0002 quantity 9 each, P/N N/A BIAS-T. *** Award is expected 19 February 2002. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received by 14 February 2002. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
