Description

NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) has a requirement for plastic coated and impregnated wire rope, to be furnished and delivered F.O.B. Seattle, WA. The specification are: 9.5 mm diameter; galvanized 3X19 improved plow steel; shall have low rotation construction, watertight polypropylene jacket with outside diameter of 12.7mm; impregnated with plastic so 3 strands are incased in plastic; shall be centered in plastic jacket, shall have minimum breaking strength of 6,318 kg, shall be no more than 33.3 kg per 100m in weight in seawater. A firm fixed-price indefinite quantity contract is contemplated. The period of performance will be a base year plus two 1-year option years. This acquisition is subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations regarding the acquisition of commercial items and will be conducted in accordance with the special simplified acquisition procedures in Part 13.5. Proposals will be due on March 12, 2002. NAICS Code is 332618; small business size is 500. This is a 100 percent small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency.
