Description
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and disposal necessary and incidental related work for Apron Paving at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, MA. The scope of work consists of the following: a. Re-construction of 800 square yards of asphalt pavement and construction of 200 square yards of new asphalt pavement on the east throat adjacent to Hangar 3170 including removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod areas. b. Re-construction of 1800 square yards of pavement on the south apron adjacent to Hangar 3170 including removal of existing asphalt pavement, Portland concrete pads, and Portland concrete tie downs and installation of new 900 square yards of new asphalt pavement and 900 square yards of new concrete pavement. c. Re-construction of 800 square yards of asphalt pavement and construction of 200 square yards of new asphalt pavement on the west throat adjacent to Hangar 3170 including removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod areas. Three manhole frames and covers must be reset and one new curb box must also be installed. d. Re-construction of 3,560 square yards of asphalt pavement and construction of 50 square yards of new asphalt pavement on the west apron adjacent to Hangar 3170 including removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod areas. A new 60? long trench drain and drop manhole must also be installed. Pavement in this area will require some slight change in finish grades from the existing. e. Provide replacement and/or new pavement markings as indicated. The period of performance is 140 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000 dollars. The NAICS code is 234110. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 2/25/02. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. Line of credit is $500,000.
