Description
DORM TRAIL LIGHTING/SERVICE ROAD ELECTRICAL PROJECT MOUNT RUSHMORE = NATIONAL MEMORIAL The work performed under the terms of this contract will provide = lighting of a developed trail 1800 feet (+/-) in length and establish a = 60-ampere electric service at the trail's end to power = lighting/receptacle service for an entrance kiosk and a future security = gate. Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of design detail and = quality as well as cost (60% design/40% lowest price/100 points = possible). All work will be completed in compliance with the National = Electrical Code. All transformers within the Memorial are the property = of Black Hills Power & Light Corporation. Identification of primary = cable locations and coordination with this utility provider for meter = construction and all other related activities are the responsibility of = the Contractor. The project involves: 1) Tapping an existing 3-ph, 208/120v secondary, = pad-mount transformer at the rear of AMFAC Corporation's dormitory. 2) = Construction of an outdoor service panel/meter base/control panel = cluster to service trail lighting circuits and a second service at = trail's end. 3) Trenching, placement of conduit(s) and cable. 4) = Installation of 38 KIM Lighting Corporation bollard light fixtures = (Model ENG/VRB1, 100 watt Metal Halide, 208v) on concrete bases. 5) = Construction of a second outdoor 60-ampere service panel incorporating a = buck/boost transformer (or other appropriate device) at trails end and = at midpoint between an existing security gate and kiosk at the entrance = to the Memorial's Sculpture Studio parking lot. One single-pole 20 amp = lighting circuit; two single-pole 20 amp/GFCI receptacle circuits, and = one two-pole, 20amp circuit to power a proposed security gate motorized = operator will be required at a minimum at this location. (What do you propose, how will you = construct it, what equipment will you use?).Examples would include: = Manufacturers; inclusion of main breaker kits and copper busses; number = and amperages of circuit breakers provided; lighting contactor; timer = control (Intermatic T101 preferred); Hand/Off/Auto switching; = transformer; enclosures (Type-3R would be appropriate); etc.(25 points) Identification of all cables and conduits to be used in the project.(10 = points) Identification of trenching equipment/depths/methods and your = suggestions for conduit type/fasteners in locations where appropriate = trenching depths would not be possible without the use of explosives.(15 = points) Grounding equipment and methods. (5 points) Mounting base construction detail. (5 points)
