Description
Request for quotation issued to purchase twenty McLane Research Laboratories Inc. Model S0369 30" steel buoys for the Pacific Marine Environmental Lab (PMEL). Buoys are submersible floats used in atmospheric research. McLane presently only source that can produce all twenty buoys by 4/1/02 in time for research cruise. McLane also only submersible buoys which meet PMEL requirements 30" diameter, 369 lbs. approximate net buoyancy, 154 lbs. weight-in-air, 380m depth rating. Includes 5,000 lb. in-line tension capacity, internal tension member, two rugged pad eyes with insulated galvanized shackles, two 6" steel lifting bails, two zinc anodes, durable high visibility finish, and leak test fitting. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000.
