Description
The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of a standard manufactured brow system (gangway) modified as necessary to meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements. The brow system shall consist of one brow and one brow stand, complete with brow attachment fixtures for easy brow to ship deck attachment. The brow system shall be constructed of corrosion resistant aluminum for use in a saltwater environment and capable of providing for shore to ship and ship to shore access by personnel with hand carry baggage. The brow shall be manufactured at the contractors facility and the completed brow shall be delivered FOB destination, Cordova, Alaska. The proposed contract action is for a product the Government intends to acquire as a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The NAICS Code is 33299 and the number of employees is 500. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings may be accessed for download beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be February 6, 2002) from the Government-wide Electronic Posting System website (FedBizOpps) at http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted solely on that website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. Companies not having the capability to download solicitation documents may refer to a list of printers available through the Tri-Service Solicitation Network, http://tsn.wes.army.mil/TSNSolicitationPrinting.asp. Printers on this list can download and print drawings and other solicitation documents for a fee. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000.00 with interest at the prime rate.
