DESCRIPTION: This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source purpose with Time Warner Trade Publishing Co. Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities, however this is not request for competitive quotations. If such person do wish to submit quotations, all quotations must be received via FAX: (202) 267-4727, ATTN: Mrs. Freeman, BY February 8, 2002. A Determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (SEE NOTE 22). The U.S. Coast Guard intends to purchase 5,000 books as detailed below. Special requirement: The books must be custom printed to include a letter from The Commandant on the first page. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Therefore, please read this entire notice, the instructions herein, and the attachment documents carefully. This acquisition is on an Unrestricted Small Business Set-A-Side basis: NAICS: 323117. Offerors must submit an original and two copies of the proposal to Mrs. Freeman, USCG Headquarters Support Command, Code A-3, Room B411, 2100 Second St., S.W., Washington, DC 20593. Electronic transmissions, mfreeman@comdt.uscg.mil is acceptable, but must be timely. The following Federal Acquisition Regulations clauses are incorporated by reference: FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (Aug 00), 52.212-4 (Aug 00), SEE ATTACHED:52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes of Executive Orders-Commercial Items (Aug 00).
