- The U.S. Geological Survey intends to issue a noncompetitive award to Vladimir Berger, for the following services: 1. Compile data on grades and tonnages, mineralogy, age, rock types, and spatially associated deposits classed by type associated with polymetallic replacement, zinc-lead and copper skarn deposits from around the world. The spatially associated mineral deposits are to be classed by type. Particular care will be taken in deposits in the Former Soviet Union. A new FileMakerPro database will be built to contain these data; 2. Construct a new mineral deposit density model based on worldwide porphyry copper deposits. Deposit density models are counts of the numbers of deposits per unit area from well-explored regions. At least 10 separate estimates will be made using porphyry copper deposits consistent with grade and tonnage models. Estimated period of performance is March 1, 2002 through February 28, 2003. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Determination to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No additional synopsis will be published.
