- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. The Navy Experimental Diving Unit, Naval Sea Systems Command, Panama City, FL. Is seeking vendors to provide an Underwater Full Face Mask (FFM) for the replacement of the MK-24 Full Face mask (FFM). System shall be a Commercial Item and must be capable of satisfying the operational requirements of the Special Operations Divers. Minimum requirements for a desirable Full Face Mask (FFM) shall have the following operational characteristics. Switchover capability that allows underwater switching between open circuit and closed circuit operation. This shall be a one-maneuver operation. FFM must be compatible with current closed circuit underwater breathing apparatus (UBA), and can be easily adaptable to any future UBA system. FFM Shall have a comfortable easy to use equalization (nose clearing device). FFM Shall allow in-water communications regardless of operational mode. FFM shall be capable of operating to a maximum depth of 130 FSW (Feet of Seawater) and in temperatures of 28 - 105 F. A cold water conversion kit is acceptable for operation in water temperatures below 35 F. Information that is unique to the FFM also should be included.
