- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research to identify domestic material that is waterproof, quiet, lightweight, durable, flame resistant, abrasion-resistant, and non-reflective. It should be suitable for use as a poncho, tarp, shelter, or stretcher in all terrains and conditions ranging from -10 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The material shall have the ability to be camouflage printed, and seam taped. Additionally, the material shall produce no significant noise, shall not be degraded by exposure to DEET, and Petroleum, Oil, and/or Lubricants (POL) encountered in military environments. Interested parties with materials that meet these requirements are requested to submit product literature and illustrations, relevant company background/experience, cost information, instructions as to how to repair rips/damage, and information on any test/analysis conducted on the material indicating its ability to perform to the stated parameters. Firms shall indicate if the material complies with the requirements of the Berry Amendment, and shall identify where the material is produced. Firms responding to this announcement shall indicate whether they qualify as a small business. Any information submitted will not be returned. If a firm chooses to submit samples, be advised that no payment will be made by the Government for such samples or any other information submitted in response to this notice. This notice is for market research only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION OR PROPOSALS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME. The information received under this announcement may be used for developing an acquisition strategy. Submission of material or information in response to this announcement shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any items/services, or for the Government to pay for the information received.
