Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Object Management Group (OMG), Needham, Massachusetts for membership to the Object Management Group. This is an international consortium of government and industry that develops and promotes standards for distributed information systems and for the standardization of interfaces among the software components of such systems. THIS PROCUREMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED USING FAR PART 13.5 - TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The period of performance is from March 14, 2002 through March 13, 2003. There are also four additional one-year option periods for similar services. OMG is a recognized standards development organization by and for the International Organization for Standardization. This is a sole source because OMG is uniquely qualified with an open membership with the breadth of membership and the degree of specialization in the heterogeneous computing environment that meets the needs of the Government. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responses received by the date identified above. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. An award shall be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures approximately March 8, 2002. .
