Description
Cheboygan Housing - Phase II Kitchen / Bathroom Cabinet Specification Units 630, 635, 711, 716, 723, 725, 714, 702, and 710 General: Vendor to provide new kitchen cabinets, counter top, and bathroom vanity, vanity top, medicine cabinet and light bar for USCG housing units 630, 635, 711, 716, 723, 725, 714, 702 and 710. Vendor must visit the site to verify room lay out and cabinet sizes/configurations. Cabinets shall be of the style chosen by the USCG representative. Size and type as required to meet kitchen / bathroom configurations and verified by site visit. Cabinets shall meet or exceed the minimum construction and performance standards for cabinets as outlined in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI/NKCA) Specification A.161.2 and carry the seal of the National Kitchen Cabinet Association. Kitchen Cabinets: Door Construction shall be solid oak stile and cross rails, five-piece frame and panel assembly tongue and grooved, glued and pin tacked with veneered surface, raised center panel of the same species. Door Style shall be Aristokraft Westbury, Merillat Square or similar design with Oak Natural or similar finish color as specified by USCG representative. Wall Cabinet Construction: Face frames shall be 3/4 inch thick x 1-1/2 inch wide solid oak. Horizontal rails and vertical stiles shall be glued and stapled with mortise and tenon joint construction. Mullions shall be 3 inches wide on double door wall cabinets. Tops and bottoms shall be 1/2 inch particleboard with laminate surfaces. Sides and backs shall be 3/8 inch laminated particleboard. Shelves shall be 3/4 inch thick particleboard with laminate surfaces. All 24 inch, 30 inch, 36 inch, and 42 inch high wall cabinets shall have adjustable shelves complete plastic shelf clips Base Cabinet Construction face frames shall be 3/4 inch thick x 1-1/2 inch wide solid oak. Horizontal rails and vertical stiles shall be glued and stapled with mortise and tenon joint construction. Mullions shall be 3 inches wide on double door base cabinets. Square corner base cabinets shall have a solid wood mullion. Sides, bottoms, and backs shall be 3/8 inch particleboard with laminate surface. Cabinets shall hold 15 lbs. weight per square foot. All four corners shall have particleboard braces. Toekick shall be 3/8 inch x 4 inch particleboard with laminate surface. Drawer Guide System and Drawer guide system shall have self-closing epoxy-coated guides that includes solid double captive rollers, bottom-mounted double rails, and a built-in drawer stop. Load capacity shall be 100 lbs. or greater per pair. Drawer Box Construction shall be all-wood four-sided dovetailed drawers with a clear topcoat. Bottoms shall be 3/8 inch plywood with laminated surface, butt stapled, dado jointed into sides, front, and back. Toe Kick cover shall be 1/4 inch thick x 3 inches high veneer covered particle-board. Hinges: Doors shall be mounted on fully concealed self-closing, adjustable steel hinges. Finishing Process shall create a uniform look that enhances the beauty and durability of the cabinet. Toner shall be applied to the door fronts, drawer fronts, and face frame fronts. Wiping stain and synthetic sealer shall be electrostatically applied, lightly sanded smooth, and covered with an electrostatically catalyzed synthetic topcoat. Interior surfaces of cabinet walls, backs, and shelves shall have a urethane-coated laminate surface. Kitchen Countertops shall be 3/4 inch plywood or industrial grade particleboard top with 4 inch backsplash. Front edges and tops of backsplashes shall have build down applied to provide visual thickness of 1-1/4 inch. Backsplashes shall be 4 inches high giving a height of 5-1/4 inches from the cabinet top to the backsplash top. Laminated plastic shall be bonded under pressure to exposed surfaces, using glue that matches laminate manufacturer's specifications. Corners shall be mitered where applicable and miter bolts shall be provided for field assembly. Countertop unit shall be covered with Formica Corporation laminate that meets or exceeds NEMA performance standards (ANSI/NEMA LD 3 - 1995) for high-pressure laminate. Bathroom Medicine Cabinet / Light Bar: Cabinets shall have solid oak face frame with built in light bar. Mirrors shall be 3/16 inch or 1/8 inch plate mirrors with vinyl backing. Tri-vue style shall be 30 inch x 36 inch and the single swing door style shall be 18 inch x 32 inch. Light bar shall have polished chrome light plate with UL approved light fixtures. Bathroom Vanity cabinet and drawers shall be constructed to the same standard as the kitchen cabinets and drawers except that the dimension shall be 30 inches high x 21 inches deep. Bathroom Vanity Tops shall be of cast cultured marble certified to meet or exceed all state and federal plumbing codes as established by ANSI and HUD/FHA UM 73. Design shall be a classic oval shape, with recessed faucet landing area. Color shall be either white on white marbled or almond and bone marbled as specified by the USCG representative. Dimensions shall be two vanity tops 25 inch x 22 inch with left splash, one vanity top 25 inch x 22 inch with right splash, and one vanity top 37 inch x 22 inch.
