- Description
- NA Furnish and install a computer numerically controlled, high vacuum, electron beam welding system with equipment and accessories specified in the specifications. The welding system shall be a fixed gun type, 150 Kilovolt, 100 Miliamp, 15 Kilowatt Maximum Beam power with wire feed system. This electron beam welding system will be used in the reclamation of AGT 1500 gas turbine engine components requiring high vacuum electron beam welding. The welding system shall be new (not a prototype) and one of the ma nufacturer?s current production models capable of operations in accordance with the requirements in the specifications. The design shall include features and components necessary for accomplishing electron beam welding in a vacuum environment. The welding system shall have an electron beam gun mounted in or on a vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber shall be designed to be evacuated to a desired level. Control of the system shall be directed by a computer numerical control (CNC) system. The CNC system shall co ntrol all machine operating components and systems, including linear and rotational axes, as specified. The machine and its numerical control system shall constitute a completely functional system with programmable operations that generate reproducible wel ding on a production basis. The welding system shall include all components, parts, and features necessary to meet the performance requirements specified. All parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion shall be readily accessible for adjustment, repla cement, and repair. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c), therefore, hard copies will not be provided. This procurement will be issued as a commercial item unrestricted solicitation. The NAICS Code is 333992, 500 employees. Estimated issue date is 1 5 February 2001 with a closing date of 1 March 2001. Offer/Quotes must be submitted electronically as indicated in the solicitation. Caution: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to o btain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which sh all be considered. This is an unrestricted procurement.
