Description
NA The US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Acquisition Center on behalf of the CECOM Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD), Science & Technology Division is soliciting proposals for a technology development and demonstration p rogram to provide the Army with high resolution Infrared Focal Plane Arrays (IRFPAs) that are sensitive in the 3 ? 5 micron and the 8 ? 10 micron spectral regions, hereafter referred to as the MWIR and LWIR regions. Our intent is to acquire prototypes of t hese advanced IRFPAs and assess them as candidates for an infrared imager for the Army Multi Function Smart Sensor Suite. Target values for array characteristics are as follows. Format: 1024 x 1024 Pixel Size: 20 microns Spectral sensitivity MWIR: 3 ? 5 micron and LWIR: 8 ? 10 micron Operating temperature: 120K Well capacity: greater than E8 electrons Temporal: Simultaneous readout of MWIR and LWIR signals On chip A/D: greater than 14 bits Adaptive Frame Rates: up to 480 Hz at least in the center 64 x 64 area Pixel Fusion: to take advantage of the least correlated data between bands The Government is acquiring two IRFPA prototypes. Delivery of these prototypes must take place within 24 months from date of award. In addition, there will be an optional 36 month effort which may run concurrently with the base effort to acquire two addi tional enhanced prototypes.
