NA 11th Annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium ?Innovative Logistics - achieving the Army Transformation? Sponsored by the US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) with administrative support by the Michigan Chapter National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Background: The 11th annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium will be held 16-18 April 2002 at the Northfield Hilton in Troy, MI. This Logistics Symposium brings together Government and Industry personnel to discuss issues and concerns relevant to the constant changes in the logistics environment. This forum affords the opportunity for networking and enhancing lines of communication in a non-adversarial atmosphere. Agenda: The theme will be ?Innovative Logistics - Achieving the Army Transformation? The Army is transforming to a force that is tactically and strategically responsive, interconnected, lethal across the spectrum of conflict and with a reduced logistics t ail. The presentations will focus on initiatives within the government and industry contributing to the Army Transformation. The topics will discuss the following: Logistics Innovation, Maintenance Transformation, Robotics, Nano-Technologies, Future Strat egic Issues/Future Warfare, the Army/DARPA Technology program, Integrating new and aging weapon systems, the Science & Technology Transformation strategies, Enablers for the Objective Force, revised Acquisition Strategies and Modeling & Simulation. Repres entatives from government and industry will address the logistical and technical support required to meet the Department of Defense mission. The symposium will offer formal presentations, joint workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and open discussions. Symposium Objective: Address a broad range of logistics issues and explore technologies that will transform the U.S. Army for the 21st century. The Symposium will:  Review and demonstrate emerging technology  Showcase world-class products and services  Identify needs for new management tools, research and products  Review management and technical solutions now in design and development Who should attend:  Logisticians, Inventory Specialists and Engineers  Maintenance managers  Production, process and information system specialists  Commercial product support providers  Researchers and product development representatives  Everyone interested in successful DOD logistics operations Registration: The registration fee is $275.00. Payment must be made upon registration. Send the registration form to the address provided on the registration form. Fee includes: Continental Breakfast, Reception, Buffet Lunch, Coffee, Beverages, Refreshme nts, Morning and Afternoon briefings, Exhibits, NDIA Hospitality Suite, Proceedings and covers administrative expenses. A receipt will be provided upon request. The fee for registration after 2 April 2002 will be $325.00. The point of contact for paymen t is Ms. Kerry Kropa. The rates are $94.00 for government per diem and $134.00 for industry. In order to ensure the di scounted rate please make reservations early and ask for the symposium reserved room block which will be held for the LogSym until March 25th. Government employees planning to stay at the Northfield Hilton, that are unable to reserve a room at the governm ent per diem rate once the government rate rooms are filled, can be reimbursed by submitting an Actual Expense Request for reimbursement to their Travel Office. Exhibit Opportunities: TA COM and NDIA invite you to exhibit at the 11th annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium. This symposium continues to be a world class event because of the commitment from government and industry representatives. If your organization or company is invol ved in some aspect of logistics you should take this opportunity to exhibit your product and services. Last year was a sell out, and while we have expanded the available space inside and outside the hotel, we expect to sell out. Each 8? by 10? exhibitio n booth will include back and side drape. The fee is $900.00 for the duration of the symposium. This $900.00 fee will also include the availability, on a first come, first served basis, of a business meeting room for exhibitors. Tabletop space will be a vailable for $300.00 for the duration of the symposium. Poster display areas will be available for $100.00 and outdoor displays are approximately $900.00 (depending on space requirements). Space is allocated on a first come, first served basis. In addit ion NDIA is offering each exhibitor a registration fee discounted rate of $190.00 for two representatives. We will offer a live broadcast of the morning briefings to organization sites. The purpose is to reach as many people as possible with the timely and relevant information that our speakers bring live to our symposium. The cost of this service is $750.00 for all three days. As a gift for your broadcast purchase you will receive a copy of the symposium proceedings. LIVE ADVERTISEMENT: We are also offering time on the live broadcast following the briefings for companies to advertise their products and services. We would schedule your time on a first-come, first-served basis starting with the break after the first main session on April 16th.
