Description

USNS SANTA BARBARA (T-AO 28) is scheduled for a 30-day topside availability, beginning 28 May 2002 at the Contractor's Repair facility, Charleston, SC. Ship will need to be towed from lay berth Naval Weapons Station Charleston, SC to Contractor's facility, with return tow to parent lay berth following completion of availaibility. Work Item shall include: (1) Complete overhaul of the Aft Emergency Diesel Generator System, (2) Topside Preservation, (3) Steel Renewal, (4) Navigation and Electronic Repair, and (5) Ventilation Repair Work. A shipcheck opportunity will be provided approximately on/about 06-07 March 2002 in Charleston, SC. The specifics regarding the shipcheck opportunity shall be provided in the solicitation. Specific Description of work Items shall also be provided in the formal solocitation package. Offer area restricted to Charleston SC vicinity. A responsible offeror shall be considered eligible if the offeror has executed a Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA), and is able to provide a suitable pier space at a public pier in the Charleston SC area. Solicitation to be issued on/about 05 March 2002.
