- Description
- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to contract with AT&T, on a sole source basis for continued nationwide data communications support services via its value-added network (VAN), which supports the processing and reimbursement of claims under the Medicare program. These services are currently being provided to CMS by this contractor under contract number 500-97-0041. This contract expires 6/30/02. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Requirements include dedicated and switched data circuits connected to a SNA/SNI network, which provides intelligent routing end-to-end, Asynchronous Communication Services, and Nationwide Asynchronous Dial Services. The required service line speeds included are T1 and T3 in both primary and back-up modes of operation. Requires simultaneous transmissions of batch and interactive traffic to other destination (any-to-any). The VAN provides HHS and CMS with network and network management services to include transport; network engineering down to the applications level; customer premise equipment, including router/CSU/DSU; consolidated network management; security services; and unified billing. Period of performance will be for one-year commencing on 7/01/02 and includes four (4) twelve-month option periods. Entities that wish to demonstrate their capability to provide the services stated above should submit their qualifications in sufficient detail for the Government to make a determination regarding their assertion (entities must have SNI experience).
