Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price modification to Contract N00019-99-C-1275 with Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems (LMTS). This modification will be for non-recurring engineering development of Digital Instantaneous Frequency Measurement (DIFM) with a trial kit installation along with the option of eight (8) additional production kits. This is an upgrade to the current P-3C Electronic Support Measures (ESM) System. Included in this upgrade are speed of electronic s signal analysis, accuracy of target classification and identification, accuracy in determining the location of the emitter of interest, effective against modern frequency-agile radars, and the P-3C ESM system?s ability to operate effectively even in the most dense and threatening electronic environments. The AIP DIFM kit will provide a precision ESM capability to augment the threat warning function by providing a frequency on every detected pulse, significantly reducing false alarms and a commensurate reduction in operator workload. LMTS is the only source that possesses the necessary technical expertise, engineering drawings and other technical documentation to meet program requirements in a time frame that precludes a break in production and minimizes impact to the fleet. .
