- Description
- The FAA is seeking qualified contractors to construction a new Remote Controlled Air/Ground Communications (RCAG) Facility at the Indianapolis Int?l Airport, Indianapolis, Indiana. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, transportation and materials necessary to complete the project which includes but is not limited to the following: 1) Furnish and installation of 4-50? free standing steel antenna support Remote Center Air/Ground Communications (RCAG) Towers, 2) Construction of new concrete masonry unit RCAG equipment building, 3) Furnish and installation of 2-25 pair communications cables and precast manholes, 4) Construction of a crushed rock access road, parking turn-a-round area and other necessary site preparation, 5) Installation of underground radio frequency (RF) and power cables, 6) Grounding & lightning protection system, 7) Construction of perimeter fence; 8) Installation of Government-furnished engine generator, 9) Relocation of existing 500 g! allon above ground fuel storage tank, and 10) Miscellaneous civil, mechanical and electrical work. Offer range is between $500,000 to $750,000 with a performance time of approximately 90 calendar days. Construction start is expected to be in May 2002. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS FEBRUARY 25, 2002. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by March/April 2002. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small b! usinesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
