Description
NA Mobile Ammunition Surveillance Inspection Workshop, IAW/Purchase Description PD APE 1965M1, drawing number PD19650000M1, ISO1161, ISO1496/2 and ISO830. The Workshop is to be used for the year round surveillance inspection of stored ammunition. Items insp ected will include small arms ammunition, mortars, grenades, rocket systems, pyrotechnics, land mines, and other similar type items. The Workshop will be capable of being mounted on either a railway flatcar for rail transport or a semitrailer flatbed for road transport. A generator, separated from the Workshop but carried on the same vehicle, shall provide complete electrical power for the Workshop. Inside the heated and air conditioned Workshop, both side walls will be lined with various laboratory equi pment including cabinet, counters, shelving, gravity roller conveyors, one directly heated melting tank, and a desk. Other inspection items and equipment will be stored and brought out as needed. A door with panic hardware will be located at each end of the Workshop to facilitate rapid evacuation. The interior of the Workshop is a National electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) class 1, Division 2, Groups C and D and Class II, Division 2, Groups E, F, and G hazardous location. Emergency lighting wi ll be available inside the workshop and on the outside at each end to permit personnel to vacate the rail car of semitrailer in the event of power failure. The internal dimensions of the Workshop shall be no less than 102? wide by 88? high by 25?0? long. Quantity 1 each. Delivery shall be FOB Destination, McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Delivery shall be due 30 September 2002. The approximate issue date is 7 March 2002 with closing date 30 days from issue. Copies of the military specifications may be obtained from the ASSIST website at http://ass ist.daps.mil. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification is 332439, 500 employees. See notes 1, 9 and 12.
