Description
NA The USACE Marine Design Center (MDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to acquire six new steel deck cargo barges to serve the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District (CEMVR) in support of its mission. The barges will be of al l welded steel construction, and will be designed, built and classed to American Bureau of Shipping rules. The dimensions of the barges are 150 feet long, 35 feet wide, and 8 feet deep. The vessels shall be flat deck type barges with raked ends, sheer at each end and have a pitched deck. The decks will be 1? thick plate for severe service. This contract will utilize a multi-phased contracting methodology. Liquidated Damages are included in the contract, and bonding is required. The Invitation for Bid d ocuments will be available on the Internet web page on or about 8 March 2002 hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. Contractors shall download this invitation for bid (including drawings) and all amendments (incl uding drawings) from the Internet web page at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp on or after issue date of the Invitation for Bid; The official media of distribution for this procurement is the INTERNET WEB PA GE. All amendments to this Invitation for Bid will be posted to the Internet web page at the above address. Hard copies of the amendment will not be furnished. It is the contractor?s responsibility to monitor the Internet web page for amendments. Inter ested contractors must register on the Internet. If any of the contractor?s information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user pro file may cause a delay in receiving the invitation for bid and amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the invitation for bid including any drawings. Bids will be due on or about 9 April 2002. This procurement is 100% small busi ness set aside. The NAICS Code is 336611 with a size standard of 1000 employees. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. All contractors must be re gistered in the DoD's Central Contract Register before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
