- Description
- Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), a Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality, intends to enter into firm-fixed contract for an in-direct, non-exclusive, brand name, commercial casual dining operation within a government-owned facility. Responses will be required in writing from all interested sources at no cost to the Government. All responses will be considered. Geographic information: MCCS bldg. 200 is located on Marine Corps Installation Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The location of the facility is about 50 meters from gate four (4) and is surrounded by bachelor living quarters. Base demographics: total military population 53,314, military 26,655, DoD family members 23,184, DoD civilians 2,918, and military retirees 557. The facility was built in 1979. Main function was a Marine Corps Dining Facility divided into two major parts: regular dining facility and fast-food section. Facility is currently vacant but well maintained by Facilities Engineering Section. MCCS was assigned facility to provide an appealing casual dining area and Community Recreation Center. The facility scheduled to undergo extensive modifications to the interior to transform facility into a Community Recreation Center that will house a theater room, cyber cafe, lounge, game area, and casual dining area. Furnishings will be new for all functional areas. Exterior modifications include re-painting and roof re-surfacing. Dining area accommodates seating for eighty (80). Facility is equipped with walk-up window for take-out/delivery service. Government provided equipment: cooking, freezer/refrigerators, dishwasher, water, electricity, gas, waste/trash removal, and telephone w/o commercial carrier for International dialing capabilities. Thirty-three (33) parking spaces available adjacent to facility. The approximate size of the facility is: casual dining 174.33 SqM or 1,876.46 SqF, kitchen-preparation-serving 85.58 SqM or 921.15 SqF, kitchen 31.82 SqM or 342.46 SqF, cyber, phone & office 267.34 SqM or 2,877.62 SqF, pool/dart 59.51 SqM or 640.55 SqF, games 37.63 SqM or 405.01 SqF, theater 94.31 SqMeters or 1,015.19 Square Feet, support office 23.67 Square Meters or 254.78 SqF, youth storage area 84.17 SqM or 905.97 SqF, toilet + janitor closet 46.46 SqM or 500.10 SqF. Drawings are available upon request. Hours of operation: 7 days/week with various operating and serving schedules. Proposed opening date for facility is Nov. 2002.
