Cindy Johnson, Buyer Phone: (732)932-4375ext 2309 Fax: (732)932-4390 E-Mail: cindyj@rci.rutgers.edu Date for receipt of proposals: Friday, April 26, 2002 Proposals are requested to develop and deliver a training course on the subject of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and its potential role in support of mobility. The course will cover an in-depth exploration of BRT to include but not be limited to: its elements, current applications, how it impacts and is impacted by other modes, its role in land use planning and community development, and a cost benefit comparison with other modes. The course will consist of one and one-half days (16 hours) of actual instruction. The first two hours (2) of the course will be designed as an executive overview and summary of BRT suitable for presentation in a stand-alone format. This course is aimed at two distinct audiences. The first two hours will be designed to attract a broad audience of decision-makers drawn primarily from outside the transit industry. The audience for the full course will consist of transportation professionals drawn from planners, engineers and operating personnel from transit as well as the other modes. The contract will require the development of a participant manual, instructor?s guides, and presentation aids for the delivery of the one and one half day course. The BRT course will be offered up to eight (8) times a year during the five-year contract period. NTI will require proposers to have experience in the subject of Bus Rapid Transit as well as experience in developing and delivering related training courses for transportation professionals. Fax or e-mail requests will be accepted; telephone requests are unacceptable. RFP?s will not be faxed. Requests for RFPs will be honored through Thursday, March 21, 2002. RFPs will be mailed out shortly thereafter.
