Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to procure on a sole source basis with US Filter Corporation, 12000 Indian Creek Court, Suite D, Beltsville, MD for rental of four (4) Super 30 Deionizer vessels and semi-annual exchange of mixed bed Deionizer, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) ONLY ONE SOURCE REASONABLY AVAILABLE. Specifically twelve (12) month rental of four (4) Super 30 Deionizer vessels located in Building 227/ACSL and labor and materials to semi annually exchange mixed bed deionizer, 30 cf. with type one (1) resin. U.S. Filter was the manufacturer of the Reverse Osmosis system which contains the vessels. The R/O system is a state of the art system designed to provide high quality water for scientists to perform their research, without concerns for the purity of the water. A firm fixed price purchase order is expected to be awarded by March 11, 2002. The period of performance will be twelve (12) months with four (4) twelve (12) month option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; no competitive solicitation will be issued; however, the Government will consider all quotes or other information received by 03/07/02. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
