Description
This is a synopsis for Commercial Services/Supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this synopsis. The North American Industrial Classification Code 541990 and its size standard of $5.0 million apply to this announcement. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) requires professional, commercial audio and video programmatic and technical services to augment the capabilities of APDB's in-house audio and video personnel, equipment and facilities. The Audiovisual Program Development Branch (APDB), Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications (LHNCBC) provides audio and video technical and developmental support for NLM's research, documentation, presentation and information programs. Cost-effective and timely assistance is required to meet the NLM's support requirements due to 1) rapid technological advancements in these fields, particularly with regard to digital technologies, 2) the diversity of support required, and 3) the increasing number of video-based projects undertaken throughout the NLM, cost-effective and timely assistance is required to meet the NLM's support requirements. There is a strict requirement for highly and broadly experienced professional vendors in the video and digital fields that have consistently demonstrated expertise and a high standard of workmanship in the provision of commercial audio and video services. There is also a requirement for the timely start and finish of projects and tasks. APDB's audio and video facilities and staff are relied upon by the entire NLM community to support the research and development, documentation, presentation and information programs that affect the health of the nation. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-04. The following provisions apply to this announcement: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial; 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items; and 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items. Request for Quotations (RFQ) NLM 02-067/SAN will be available on or about March 15, 2002. Vendors are informed that requests for RFQ NLM 02-067 shall be in writing and sent directly to: Susan A.
