Description
NA This is a Market Survey to locate sources of supply for a Dead Reckoning Device (DRD) to be used in the Land Warrior Version 1.0. The Land Warrior is an integrated system used by the dismounted combat soldier at the tactical level. Land Warrior facilitat es the dynamic flow of battlefield information and actively supports soldier level integration into the digitized battlefield. The Land Warrior System includes a Navigation Subsystem (NAVSS) that integrates Global Positioning System (GPS) and a DRD. The Land Warrior program is scheduled to begin full rate production in FY04. Currently the NAVSS GPS is Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and the DRD is Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE). Potential sources of supply must be able to deliver production units in FY03 that are capable of providing a backup positioning capability to the GPS when the GPS signals are unavailable through the use of heading and distance traveled computation. Typical performance in the backup dead reckoning mode is 2-5% of distance traveled under normal walking conditions. Suppliers capable of furnishing these units must so indicate by writing to: Commander, CECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-C2-PMSM (S. Sokolowski), Building 2705, Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey 07703-5000. The response must include documentation such as performance test res ults, information to show that the suppliers possesses, or shall posses, adequate production plant facilities (equipment, tooling, and space) to enable them, or thier subcontractors, to produce this item and projected cost data for quantity buys of 100, 10 00 and 4000 systems. All technical questions should be addressed to S. Sokolowski, (732) 427-2704, email address Stanley.sokolowski@mail1.monmouth.army.mil.
